No. If you have symptoms when upright, such as a racing heart, dizziness or fatigue, we can assess you and work with your doctor on testing and diagnosis.
-
No referral is needed for your assessment. However, you will need exercise clearance from your physician before starting our exercise program. You can download our physician referral form to bring to your doctor. Some extended health plans also ask for a referral for reimbursement, so check your coverage.

Yes. Exercise is safe and is one of the most effective treatments for these conditions, but it needs to be dosed properly. Exercise intolerance is common in POTS, so we start with recumbent, low-intensity work and progress gradually with heart-rate monitoring, adjusting your plan to how you respond to reduce the risk of a flare.
-
On average, the program takes about 6–7 months for POTS and orthostatic hypotension, and less for vasovagal presyncope (VVS) or inappropriate sinus tachycardia (IST). We review your progress regularly and adjust the plan with you.

Physiotherapy and some related services are often covered by extended health benefits. Contact us and we can provide the details your provider needs.
